Vehicle Description
The original air-cooled SWB F-bodied Porsches are and will continue to be one of the most sought after 60s classic cars ever, not only in the world of collectors but also restorers and we are delighted to be able to offer the opportunity for someone to restore this very early 912 example.
Our 912 is understood to have been built on 24th May 1965 and would have rolled out of the Karmann factory finished in Champagne Yellow with green leather interior. It was destined for Japan where it spent the entirety of its life until last year.
The car was imported to the UK as a stripped shell with the owner having the intention to completely restore it. During his custodianship, he has accumulated a number of parts and panels but unfortunately due to ill health, the restoration hasn’t progressed any further, so now it is time for someone to get stuck in and bring this 60s icon back to life.
The sale consists of….

Body & Panels
• Stripped body shell
• Fuel tank
• Fuel filler neck
• Rear outer ¼ panels
• Deck lid
• Bonnet
• Front apron
• Front scuttle panel
• Original scuttle panel with wiper motor and heating ducts
• 2 second hand doors
• 4x original wheels
• 2x door window frames with ¼ lights

Mechanical Parts
• 5 speed gearbox
• 2x rear hubs with drive shafts and brakes
• Front sub frame with steering rack, hubs, brakes and struts
• 2x torsion bars
• 2x Koni shock absorbers
• Starter Motor
• Handbrake
• Gear lever
• Pedal box
All of the mechanical parts are very second hand or could be original to the car, subsequently it is to be assumed they will all need major refurbishment.

Trim and Electrical Parts
• Steering wheel
• 2 rear lights
• 1 front indicator housing
• Wiring loom

The Bodyshell
The shell comes with a new floor pan and replacement front wings, deck lid, doors, bonnet, rear ¼ panels and front apron, all of which are in good condition, the rest of the shell, however, will require extensive restoration.

The Paperwork
The Porsche comes with its NOVA, a letter from Porsche GB and Kardex report all confirming VIN No and build date.

Summary
This is an exciting opportunity to restore a true 60s icon. Being a ground up restoration it is also sum what of a blank canvass, the choices are endless as to how the finished car could look, restored back to period perfect, restomod, historic rally car, all would look fantastic, and with prices of nice examples now at around £60000 to £70000 a project such as this starts to make a lot of sense.
