Vehicle Description
Isn’t it funny how some cars just make you fall in love with them? A case in point is this 205 Automatic, now we have much more expensive and far more desirable cars in our stock portfolio but this cute as a button little Peugeot is the one we all want to take home, we just adore it!!!
Registered in May of 1992 it is finished in Topaz Blue with grey cloth interior and is showing a credible 53360 miles recorded

History
Our 205 was bought new by a lady in Bridgewater who kept the car for 6 years before selling it to another lady in the Bristol area. She was clearly very fond of her little Pug as she kept it for 23 years before eventually passing it on to a gentleman in Oxfordshire in 2021.
All of its 3 owners have used the car very sparingly, with it only accumulating around 1700 miles a year, it has also been well looked after, this is backed up by a raft of paperwork, showing lots of services, the last one at the beginning of May this year, where it had new spark plugs, distributor cap and rotor arm as well as the normal oil and filters. There is also an invoice showing a cambelt replacement at 31000 miles.

The Drive
The combination of low miles and good attention to maintenance go some way to explain why our 205 is so lovely to drive. It starts on the first twist of the key and settles down to nice even tick over, pop it drive and off you go! Out on the road it is just a delight! The fizzy little 1.6 has plenty of power, the handling is razor sharp, the brakes are more than up to the job and the Auto box is lovely and smooth. It also has a remarkably sophisticated ride, even by todays standards. After 10 minutes out in our little Pug you are reminded why the editor of “What Car” claimed the 205 to be the best car they had ever tested in their 50 year history.

The Exterior
There is no doubt that the 205 is an achingly pretty car and the delightful shade of Topaz blue on ours just amplifies its cuteness! It is, however, not perfect. There are an assortment of minor bumps, light scratches and scuffs around the car, all we’re sure have a story tell!! But, that said, overall it still presents very nicely. All the trim and badges are present and correct as are the quite rare bolt through wheel trims. The Bronze tinted glass is all scratch free and the sunroof opens and shuts and seals just as it should.

The Interior
Inside the 205 is incredible considering it is 31 years old. It is clean and bright with no discernible signs of wear and tear. All the plastics and fabrics are damage free as are the carpets and everything works perfectly, from the electric front windows to the original Clarion radio cassette.

Conclusion
So summing up, this is the epitome of a practical classic. It is fantastic to drive, has loads of service history, very low miles and has a current MOT until April next year. It might not have concours paintwork and it might be a bit heavy handed to say it, but with our little Peugeot it’s all down to that je ne sais quoi, a term that translates to a quality that cannot be described or named easily.
