2006 HONDA CIVIC TYPE R (EP3) PREMIER EDITION

We have to say, we have something quite special here, a completely stock, unmolested EP3 Type R with 21159 miles on the clock and just 1 owner from new!!!!

THE CAR
The EP3 was the first Type R spec Civic to be sold here in the UK and was an instant success. So much so, that 35190 examples found adoring owners throughout its production and it remains one of the defining hot hatches of its period.
Our particular Type R is arguably one of the lowest mileage, all original examples remaining. A very late facelift car in Nighthawk black with air conditioning and the Premier Edition option which added Recaro front seats, Momo steering wheel, rear privacy glass and Type R emblems to the brake calipers. It is also in absolutely beautiful condition throughout.

THE DRIVE
Like a lot of us, the team at Cult Classics love a big V8 or smooth 6 but there is something just as impressive and alluring about Honda’s approach, extracting a lot of power out of relatively little, it really is exquisite engineering and we love it!
Just 2 litres producing 200bhp with just the atmosphere to aspirate it is a remarkable feat and the variable valve timing and lift which helps it produce it’s power at a dizzying 8250rpm is testament to the depth of engineering that went into the legendary K20A2 motor.
Combine this with the razor sharp chassis, the insanely satisfying gear change and meaty steering, it is no wonder that the EP3 has already reached icon status.
It goes without saying, that ours drives utterly without fault and we would imagine it feels no different now than the day it rolled off the Swindon production line.

THE EXTERIOR
Finished in Nighthawk black, our Type R looks truly fantastic, there is absolutely zero corrosion and the paint work is deep and glossy with no unsightly scratches or dents. The wheels are finished in the correct shadow silver and are completely unmarked, the headlights are bright and clear and every panel lines up perfectly.

THE INTERIOR
It is the same story inside, all the upholstery, plastics and carpets are immaculate with no visible signs of wear and everything works just as it should, including the optional air conditioning.

THE PAPERWORK
The Honda comes with it’s V5, 2 keys and remotes, its original factory certificate, stamped service book and manual.

THE CONCLUSION
So, summing up the Civic Type R is one of the very best hot hatches made, it has an awesome engine and gearbox combination that gets better the harder and faster you drive it and this particular car has surely got to be one of the very best examples available on the market.
