Vehicle Description
Here at Cult Classics, we like a bit of exclusivity and what could be more exclusive than this beautifully restored Boesch 510 Ski boat Special!

The Boat
For those not au fait with the Boesch name, they are a Swiss company with a rich history, spanning over 80 years, of building some of the very finest handcrafted Mahogany boats. Boesch’s main competitor being the more commonly known Riva brand from Italy, during the 60’s and 70’s.
Boesch were the sole ski boats used at Geneva, which was then the centre of waterskiing in Europe, and from 1960 through to 1976, and then again in 1981, 83 and 91, Boesch were the official tow boats at the World and European waterski championships.
Built in 1972, our boat was originally purchased and owned by the Princes waterski club GB.

The Exterior
Measuring 5.10 x 2.02 m with a 0.6m draught, our Boesch was completely restored a few years ago and has only been used once in the water since that restoration. Consequently, it looks absolutely fantastic! The Mahogany hull has a beautiful rich colour and a mile deep shine, all of the chrome and stainless fittings are immaculate and the anti foul coating to the lower hull is in perfect condition.

The Interior
Climbing aboard you are presented with front and rear bench seats trimmed in red vinyl with matching engine cover, all in perfect condition. The dashboard, again trimmed in red vinyl, houses a set of VDO gauges, original Boesch rev counter and is topped off with a gorgeous wood rimmed wheel. There is also a period CB radio and the decking has just been treated.

The Mechanicals
So the Boesch has certainly got the looks but to be a proper competition boat, it needs the power as well! This is provided by the original Boesch Mercruiser Crusader RH260 V8 engine, which is in fact a marine converted 5.7 (350 cu in) Chevy small block producing 260 bhp. It was completely rebuilt during the restoration and is showing just 11 hours running time.
Our in house team have given the Boesch a mechanical health check, servicing the engine with new oil and filters and replacing the heat exchanger / oil cooler. It now fires up on the first turn of the key and sounds utterly amazing!!!

Accessories
Our Launch comes with its 4 wheel trailer, 2 sets of oars, 1short set and 1 long set, a box of spares including a prop, carburettor, starter motor and assorted bits and bobs, tie off ropes, a tailor made cover, a folder containing photos of the boat in the water, Boesch promotional literature, magazine articles and a letter from Boesch confirming hull number and delivery date to the Princes water ski club. It also comes with its original competition speedometers.

Conclusion
This is an incredibly rare opportunity own a beautifully restored example of a true classic speed boat, in every sense of the word, built and finished by genuine craftsmen. It is in near immaculate condition and is perfect as a runabout, ski boat or the perfect addition to your lakeside home in the Swiss or Italian lakes.
