Finished in Grigio Navona with Nero leather sports interior, this beautiful Alfa has had only 1 UK owner and is showing just 66137 miles recorded.

The Car
Dropping a large displacement V6 engine into a relatively small hatchback was nothing new. Volkswagen had been doing it for years with several of their Golfs sporting its one-of-a-kind VR6 units, whilst Audi played with their own V6-equipped A3. These though paled into insignificance when Alfa Romeo pulled the covers off the awesome 147 GTA.
Oozing character and flair as only an Italian car can, the Alfa Romeo 147 GTA made other notable hot hatches of the time look like toys. Even the incredibly capable Volkswagen Golf R32 couldn't win back a spot in the limelight, as the Alfa Romeo brought with it a certain irresistible charm.
Our particular GTA started life in Japan and came to our shores in 2020. It has had just 1 UK owner and has been used very sparingly since being here. It is in lovely condition throughout and is fantastic to drive.

The Drive
The V6 Busso engine, named after its original creator, is a work of art. Having appeared in many of Alfa Romeos products over the years, the evolved unit beneath the bonnet of our 147 GTA is a veritable mechanical masterpiece. Producing 247BHP the GTA is a powerhouse even by todays standards and ours feels that little more special being a rare Selespeed equipped model. The combination of the power, the soundtrack and shifting through the gears via the steering mounted paddles is truly intoxicating!

The Exterior
The most common cause of death for an Alfa Romeo is rust, thankfully ours has lived most of its life travelling on the salt free roads of Japan and as a consequence is completely devoid of the dreaded tin worm, in fact the underside of the car is one of the cleanest we’ve seen.
The paint work is in very nice condition with only a very limited amount of age related imperfections. All the trim and badges are present and correct and it rolls on its original 17” Teledial alloys all of which are free from any nasty kerb marks or corrosion. These, in turn, are wrapped in a matching set of Michelin Primacy HP tyres.

The Interior
Opening the door reveals a smartly presented sports interior dominated by the deeply bolstered, high back leather seats. All the leather is damage free as are the carpets and are displaying only the very lightest signs of wear. It is also nicely equipped with heated seats, digital climate control and Bose speaker upgrade.Moving to the boot, again everything is clean and tidy, even the original Alfa Romeo “fix & go” tyre kit remains.

The Paperwork
The Alfa comes with its V5, the original book pack including its Japanese service book, an invoice for a major service in 2020 including cambelt, water pump, tensioners and idlers and its current MOT certificate, valid until November 2024

The Conclusion
A rare sight on modern roads, this Alfa Romeo 147 GTA is a fantastic example of a time when large displacement, petrol-loving engines in small compact hot hatches wasn’t to be shunned. Gleaming with Italian flair and powered by one of the greatest engines ever created, once you have driven it, handing back the keys suddenly becomes a very difficult task!!
